The committee recommended the following county board appointments to send to the full board: Supervisor Carrie Severson for Executive and Finance; Supervisor Elaine Harwick for Community and Health Services; Supervisors Rod Perry and Randy Spoonover for Natural Resources; Supervisor Randy Spoonover for County Fair Committee and Pine Valley representation; Supervisor Rod Perry for NHS of Southwest Wisconsin and campus reconfiguration; and Supervisor Bob Frank for Southwest Regional Planning. The committee also recommended leaving several seats vacant so that incoming supervisors can choose assignments.
Committee members discussed balancing workloads after noting that some supervisors already serve on multiple panels and that some committees have struggled to achieve quorum at times. Members also noted that some outside boards meet only quarterly or mostly via Zoom, and that a small number of citizen-member seats are filled through separate processes.
After discussion, the committee voted to forward the appointments list to the full county board. The motion carried; the transcript does not record a roll-call tally or the name of the motion mover.
Looking ahead, the committee left its next meeting date to be determined pending additional board membership changes and said the appointments will be finalized when the full board acts.
