The PECS Committee approved Change Order No. 4 to contract No. 1226949 to add funds for congregate and shelf‑stable meals for seniors. County staff said the change order allocates existing ARC funding in the department budget to cover meal costs for the remainder of the year and ratifies purchase order 503953 awarded to Meals on Wheels Atlanta in an amount not to exceed $715,000.
A staff presenter described the change order as an appropriation of budgeted ARC allocation to ensure continued administration of congregate and shelf‑stable meal programs for DeKalb County seniors. Committee members asked no substantive questions and the committee moved, seconded and approved the change order by voice vote.
The action increases the contract ceiling to cover meal services for the current fiscal year; staff said the funds are to address increased costs for administering congregate and shelf‑stable meal distribution.
