Wylie parks staff outline 2025 division overview, senior services and maintenance priorities

Parks and recreation staff on Aug. 11 gave the Wylie Parks and Recreation Board a 2025 division overview that highlighted strong use of the Wylie Recreation Center, expanding senior services at Community Park Center, in-house landscape and field maintenance, and the department’s marketing approach. The work session also included board-administration updates on meeting scheduling and quorum rules.

Annika Sacco, supervisor for parks and recreation product development, said her team oversees program research and planning, activity registration, reservations and special events. She described a service-classification matrix the department uses to determine user fees and subsidy levels and said staff regularly review enhancement requests and incorporate budget-related items into strategic planning.

Brittany Williams, supervisor of the Wylie Recreation Center, gave usage figures and program highlights. She said the center is open about 92 hours a week and that in 2024 the facility had “just shy of 400,000” guest check-ins.
