San Patricio County Commissioners approved the consent agenda and several procurement items during the Aug. 11 meeting.
The court accepted the tax assessor‑collector’s monthly collection statement for the period ending July 31, 2025. It also approved an interlocal agreement renewal for animal control services between San Patricio County and the City of Odem, as requested by Environmental Health Director Gabriel Arroyo.
Environmental Health Director Gabriel Arroyo asked to purchase two 2026 Chevrolet Colorado 4x2 crew‑cab vehicles (board numbers 724‑23 and 742‑23) from Caldwell Country Chevrolet for $35,030 each to replace aging, high‑mileage fleet cars used by health inspectors. Arroyo said the department currently has two older vehicles about 10 years old and that inspectors perform three to five inspections per day; the department budgeted the replacements in the current year.
On facilities, the court approved IFB 2020‑56 to Weatherspoon Construction LLC for Civic Center flooring removal and installation at $58,649 and later approved change order No. 1 for epoxy flake flooring materials/labor in the amount of $6,200. The Civic Center award and change order were approved by unanimous vote.
All consent agenda items were approved by voice vote; motions carried unanimously.
