The board voted 5‑0 to approve the agreement; the motion was made and seconded during the meeting. District staff clarified on the record that the program is funded entirely through outside grants and that the district will not assume the program’s cost if grant funding does not materialize.
Staff member Nathan Downs told the board the telehealth arrangement is designed to expand access to student health services, but that the agreement’s continuation depends on outside funding. He said similar grant‑funded programs have come and gone depending on funding availability and that district policy does not provide for absorbing the recurring program cost if grants end.
Next steps: The district will proceed with the agreement contingent on receipt of the external funding sources indicated in the board packet. If the funding is not received, the program will not be implemented under district finances.
