The Bangor City Business Economic Development Committee on Monday, Aug. 4 signaled general consensus to pursue a zoning amendment that would allow Versant to develop a training center on a property along Union Street in the city's rural residential-agriculture area, staff told the committee.
Anne Krieg, the city’s economic development director, told the committee that staff had met with Versant and was proposing to “allow this use sort of mixing it in with private school, and recreation and adding that to the rural zone, but limiting it to ... your heavier traveled roads, your what are called arterials.” Krieg said the proposed change aims to reflect limited commercial activity…
