Houston chosen to host 2025 Y Texas Summit; organizers cite business, education and tech programming on Sept. 24

The summit, organizers said, will combine business, sports, technology and education programming and include industry panels, exhibitor showcases, VIP networking, a student pitch competition and an investor reception the night before at Shell Energy Stadium. "Our first annual Y Texas Summit will be held at Daikin Park on September 24," Ed Curtis, chief executive officer of Y Texas, said at the event.
Why it matters: Organizers and civic leaders framed the summit as an economic-development and workforce event intended to connect students, educators, private companies and public agencies across Texas. Linda Head, who described her most recent role as senior associate vice chancellor for strategic partnerships at Lone Star College, emphasized aligning education with employer needs: "Employers want graduates who are prepared, and they want it done now," she said, urging counselors and workforce educators to attend.
