Mandy Cook, speaking for the Marysville Library, had summarized library programs and noted minor wording edits in the supplied agreement.
Other approved items included:
- Marysville Aquatic Center dog swim: The council approved the request to hold a dog swim event on Labor Day evening (proposed hours changed to 8–10 p.m.). Courtney Porter, MAC manager, said the event drew about 40 dogs last year and staff will turn chlorine off the night before.
- Sidewalk exemption for Many Kitchen: Council approved a small outdoor table-and-chairs exemption to allow café seating to be placed adjacent to the east side of the building, with the business required to bring furniture in nightly.
- Fireworks request from a local business: A privately sponsored fireworks display was approved for August 9 on the applicant's property (applicant said the show would use consumer-grade devices, not commercial pyrotechnics). Council asked about safety protocols; the applicant said the display would be of the same kind of fireworks available to the public.
- Storm sewer resolution 2025-11: The council moved and approved Resolution 2025-11 to purchase storm-sewer improvements for Fifteenth Street; the council recorded no opposition during the roll call on the motion.
- Appropriation Ordinance 38 52: The council approved Appropriation Ordinance No. 38 52 in the amount of $300,422.67 by roll call vote; recorded responses were all "Yes."
- Consent agenda and appointments: The consent agenda was approved. Mayor's appointments — including a reappointment to the Zoning Board of Appeals and two new appointments — were approved by voice vote.
