Clatsop County employee urges commissioners to investigate alleged misconduct in district attorney’s office

She described multiple employees on leave for physical and mental-health reasons she linked to the workplace environment, and said the staffing impacts were affecting court schedules, local defense counsel and law enforcement because of absences in a small office.
Kinney asked the commissioners to "get involved" and to take a deep dive into the matter, saying employees’ lives had been severely affected. Board members acknowledged an investigation was underway and thanked the speaker for coming forward; they did not announce any immediate additional action at the meeting.
No board motion or vote on the DA office matter occurred during the meeting; the board noted that an investigation was in progress.
