Clatsop County facilities staff asked the board for authorization to replace the thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) membrane roof on the Duane Street Annex (the former county jail). Facilities Manager Matthew Gerber told the board the roof is more than 35 years old and overdue for replacement.
Gerber asked the board to authorize the county manager to sign a contract not to exceed $168,738 for the TPO replacement and any amendments. The board approved the request by voice vote.
Gerber said the Duane Street Annex is currently vacant and in the county’s facility inventory; he framed the roof work as preventative maintenance to preserve the structure while the county evaluates long-term reuse options.
