Langan said the existing light box dates from an earlier tenant (Vitra) and measures approximately 12 feet high by 6 feet 7.5 inches wide. Baccarat proposes to replace damaged face panels, restore lighting behind a milk‑white acrylic panel, and overlay a laser-cut nondirectional black metal face that will carry a Baccarat artwork/graphic so the box reads as an illuminated art object rather than a commercial poster. They also proposed replacing a set of worn double doors in kind and installing a decorative door pull tied to the artful treatment.
The committee asked about illumination timing and the applicant said the box would be lit to provide even backlighting and that visible backlighting during daytime would be negligible. Committee members asked that lighting levels be tested; no members registered objection and the committee expressed support for restoring the box in its revised, art-focused treatment.
