VISALIA — The Tulare County Board of Supervisors on July 22 read and adopted a proclamation recognizing July 27, 2025, as Parents’ Day in Tulare County and presented the proclamation to Travis Wells of California Christian Academy.
Supervisor Dennis Townsend introduced the proclamation, noting the national Parents’ Day resolution adopted by Congress in 1994 and stating the county’s intent to honor parents’ role in their children’s education, health and well‑being. Supervisor Townsend read the board’s resolution aloud and invited Travis Wells, who said he represents a homeschool cooperative and church-affiliated group in Springville, to accept the proclamation and make brief remarks.
Wells thanked the board and referenced the role of family and faith in his brief remarks. The board took a photo with members of the group that attended the meeting.
