The Orinda City Council unanimously appointed Craig Beckerman to the Traffic Safety Advisory Committee (TSAC) and designated voting delegates for the League of California Cities annual business meeting.
Staff reported one applicant for the TSAC vacancy after recruitment efforts. Council members praised Beckerman’s experience noted on his application and discussed the option of interviewing candidates; with only one applicant, members chose to appoint him at the meeting. A council member disclosed a prior neighbor relationship with the candidate through 2014 but said there was no financial interest and therefore no disqualification.
On the League of California Cities annual meeting, the council selected Mayor Mulconey as the primary voting delegate and Councilmember Gere Hoxsey as alternate (or vice‑versa based on scheduling) to represent the city at the business meeting, where league policy resolutions will be considered. Both motions passed unanimously with no public comment.
Staff will notify the TSAC appointee and process the League delegate paperwork.
