The Crockett City Council approved a specific-use permit allowing a manufactured home to be placed at 804 Cottonwood, a property identified by the Houston County Appraisal District as portions of parcels 4309 and 4310.
City staff told the council the application from Tracy Ross Jr. was reviewed by the Planning and Zoning Commission, which held a public hearing and recommended approval after determining the proposed placement met setbacks and other ordinance requirements; staff said one person spoke in favor at the Planning and Zoning hearing and none opposed.
Staff member: “Planning and Zoning recommended approval of the specific-use permit for the placement of the manufactured home. It will be a 2025 model manufactured home,” the presenter said.
A motion to approve the specific-use permit passed after council members moved and seconded the item. Two councilmembers said they would abstain from the vote for conflict-of-interest reasons because they own property within the 300-foot notice area; the clerk recorded the abstentions and announced the motion carried.
What’s next: staff will process the permit consistent with city setback, utility and safety requirements and the applicant may proceed to place the manufactured home subject to those conditions.
