Contractor reports King Municipal Operations Center on schedule and on budget; foundations and underground work beginning

Teal Construction project manager Zachary Mokman gave the council an update on the King Municipal Operations Center project, reporting that demolition is complete, the building pad has passed materials testing and concrete mobilization for foundations is imminent.
Mokman said most underground storm utilities are finished or nearly finished, the goal is to complete the West Building foundation by mid-September and the pre-engineered metal building delivery is targeted for early November. He told council the project is “pretty much right at budget” and that the critical path centers on west-side underground and foundation work.
Council asked whether TxDOT frontage permitting or debris-filled downstream storm lines could delay the schedule; Mokman and staff said the contractor does not expect the TxDOT coordination to delay the critical path and that they will continue working with TxDOT and city staff on any frontage/storm connections. The contractor said no near-term delays are anticipated.
