Shannon also described an EMS personnel addition whose wages were budgeted last year but whose equipment, uniform and IT needs were not, noting those costs were being added to the IT budget. A $25,000 insurance deductible charge to the circuit court clerk was added, and the sheriff's office is requesting use of reserves for a $75,000 vehicle purchase for a drug task-force-related expenditure.
On capital projects, Shannon said one grant expired and $91,000 was removed; the county added a $350,000 grant from Aspire for the Greenway project. Shannon said the county also restored previously omitted funds for library equipment and for right-of-way work on Charles Bell Road (Carrie Ford entries) and increased risk management by $12,007.60 for an insurance policy for a security employee.
Commissioner Lightford noted a clerical point about the $600 phone stipend being coded to Agriculture Extension rather than Soil Conservation; staff acknowledged the correction. No formal vote or roll call is recorded in the transcript of the informal session.
