Commissioners approve interim-use permit for Dembowski farm market and learning center with five conditions

Morrison County land services staff presented an interim-use permit application from Kevin and Carrie Dembowski to operate a limited rural business described as a farm market and learning center. Staff said the planning commission recommended approval with five conditions: no customer parking in the road right-of-way; the septic system serving the shed, school and market must be sized for commercial use and approved by Morrison County Land Services before classes begin; within one year of business operation, waste-strength testing must occur and any additional treatment required must be installed; all applicable state and county licensing for the use must be maintained; hours for classes must be between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.; and the interim use permit is valid only while Carrie Dembowski or Daisy Dembowski own the property.
Commissioner Casper moved to approve the interim use permit; Commissioner Moran seconded. Commissioners approved the permit by voice vote and the chair declared the motion carried.
Land services also introduced a new staff member, Kayla Worm, who joined the department as an appraiser and was welcomed by the board.
