The North Texas Tollway Authority Board of Directors approved a janitorial services contract Aug. 20 for the Gleneagles complex to FESTAC Building Constructors for a low bid of $756,664.16.
Why it matters: the contract covers janitorial services for two Gleneagles Complex buildings totaling approximately 165,000 square feet and includes daily cleaning, after‑hours services and daytime janitors to be present during office hours. The procurement followed NTTA’s standard process; the request to advertise was approved in May, bids opened in July and staff presented the low responsive bidder and recommended award.
Board discussion: directors asked staff if the low bid being substantially under the estimate was a concern; procurement staff said they reviewed the bidder’s submission and noted the firm had past experience with NTTA, and staff reported no issues at this time. Director Cassata moved approval; Director Gravely seconded and the board approved the contract unanimously.
Funding and next steps: staff said the contract and work authorizations will be processed according to procurement rules and funded according to the budget line in the operations/maintenance plan. Staff will return with contract documents and manage the contractor performance through the procurement process.
