Superintendent Bowman previews school-year openings, summer programs and recognizes long-serving board members

Superintendent Bowman told the Neshaminy School District Board of Directors that the district held freshman orientation sessions this week and is preparing to welcome students back for the 2025–26 school year.
Bowman said the district held an orientation for the “blue” side of the Class of 2029 and that the “red” side and remaining freshmen were scheduled to check in the following day. He said three middle schools will hold new-student orientation on Thursday and that the kindergarten Class of 2038 will visit classrooms next Tuesday. “Classrooms are ready to go,” Bowman said, adding that staff have completed scheduling, hiring, bus maintenance, facilities projects and technology upgrades.
The superintendent also thanked staff who ran summer programs, including summer PASS, Summer Stock, English language development, Summer Ignite and athletic youth camps at the high school, and said the district had multiple summer activities across sites. Bowman noted the Pennsylvania School Boards Association Honor Roll of School Board Service recognizes directors at five-year intervals and named three directors who reached 10 years of service: John Allen, Tina Hollenbach and Marty Sullivan.
Board members present acknowledged the start-of-year preparations and accepted Bowman’s report with no further discussion.
