Committee approves standard workday reporting resolution for retirement records

The Chautauqua County Administrative Services Committee on Aug. 18 approved a resolution to set the standard workday and reporting for specified individuals to the New York State and Local Retirement System (NYSLRS).
Debbie Makowski, director of human resources, told the committee the resolution directs the number of workdays per pay period that will be reported to NYSLRS for the individuals named in the resolution and that the action carries no budgetary impact. "This is a proposed resolution to set the number of workdays reported to the NYSLRS retirement system for the individual listed," Makowski said.
Makowski said the record of activities used for these reports is valid for eight years unless a substantial change prompts an earlier submission. "The record of activities are good for 8 years ... after once that expires, we have to go through that process," she said, adding that the reporting process is not simple.
Committee members voted in favor by voice vote; the transcript records multiple aye votes and the motion carried. Makowski said the resolution will be repeated in future terms as required when records expire or when officials request updates.
