Village of Jackson committee recommends multiple construction pay requests, awards dog-park bid and forwards 2024 audit

The Village of Jackson Budget and Finance Committee on Aug. 12, 2025 recommended that the Village Board approve multiple construction change orders and pay requests, awarded a $217,614.10 bid for a dog park at Cedar Run Park and recommended acceptance of the village's 2024 audited financial statements.

The recommendations came during a regularly scheduled 7 p.m. meeting at Village Hall. Committee members handled routine consent items including minutes and treasurer reports before addressing project change orders, pay requests and contracts from the Board of Public Works and Park and Recreation staff.

Why it matters: The motions advance street, wastewater and community-center work already under contract and move the Cedar Run dog park project toward construction. The committee's actions free payments to contractors and forward the 2024 audit and an insurance renewal to the Village Board for final approval.

Most items were routine approvals. The committee recommended approval of change order number 2 for the 2025 Ridgeway Drive and Chestnut Court reconstruction project, an increase of $13,450, and recommended approval of change order number 1 for the 2025 Oaks of Jackson surface course, Spruce Street and Ridgeway Drive for Stark Paving Corporation, an increase of $14,340. The committee also recommended approval of pay request number 3 for the Ridgeway Drive/Chestnut Court project in the amount of $447,187.01 and pay request number 1 for the 2025 Hickory Lane reconstruction project to Vinton Construction in the amount of $356,256.41.
