Temple City Council approved most consent-agenda items Thursday and separately tabled a proposed purchase of playground equipment for Lions Park.
Council voted 5–0 to approve the consent agenda covering items 4A through 4U, excluding 4C. Item 4C, a resolution authorizing the purchase and installation of playground equipment for Lions Park from Game Time of Fort Payne, Alabama, in the estimated amount of $467,397.59, was tabled to the Aug. 21 meeting at the Parks & Recreation Department's request. Councilmember Pilkington moved to table 4C; Mayor Pro Tem Walker seconded, and the postponement passed 5–0.
Why it matters: tabling allows staff additional time to bring more information or to address outstanding items before council acts on a high-cost purchase; the remainder of the consent agenda proceeded without separate discussion.
Next steps: staff will return with item 4C on Aug. 21 with any additional information or materials requested by council.
