Board to consider two‑year WellSpan Philhaven pilot agreement; multiple policies placed on table

The district presented a two‑year pilot agreement with WellSpan Philhaven and told the board it will seek ratification for the payment effective July 1, 2025.

Dr. Dumesic said the agreement continues a relationship with Philhaven (now part of WellSpan) that the district has maintained in various forms for more than three decades. The administration said the pilot payment for the coming year is "just over $60,000" and that the contract includes an option to automatically renew for an additional two years with annual increases tied to the district’s adjusted Act 1 index.

Administrators also presented policy items for the board to place on the table for final adoption later this fall. Policies listed for final adoption included the homework policy, a drug‑and‑alcohol testing policy for employees based on reasonable suspicion, and an updated policy on lending school‑owned equipment and books to reflect technology and one‑to‑one device practice.

The administration further proposed placing additional policy updates on the table for review and later action: petty cash procedures, sanitary management, facilities and workplace safety, advisory committees, and updated language on relationships with parents and guardians to reflect a range of family situations. The items will be on the agenda for final adoption after the required review period.

Dr. Dumesic also noted the board had identified three directors to attend the PSBA delegate assembly on Oct. 21 at Kalahari, subject to final acceptance.
