The Pocatello City Council approved several airport-related measures including a state aeronautics grant, a contractor award for pavement rehabilitation, a utility easement for taxi-lane construction and a lease amendment to add another tenant to an existing space.
Council approved a grant agreement and adopted a resolution authorizing acceptance of a $450,000 grant from the Idaho Transportation Department Division of Aeronautics to support airport improvement projects. City staff said the grant does not require a local match.
On the pavement rehabilitation project, staff recommended accepting the lowest responsive bid from CR Construction LLC. The advertised bid amount reported in the staff report was $14,343,790.85 for pavement rehabilitation of airport terminal parking lots; the staff packet also included language authorizing execution of a construction agreement and related documents in the amount shown in the packet. The award and any resulting construction agreements are subject to Federal Aviation Administration acceptance of grant offers and legal department review.
The council also granted a perpetual public utility easement through airport property to allow for taxi-lane construction and hangar development and approved an amendment to an existing airport lease to add Coleasy Infinite Hydraulics to the tenant roster. The mayor and staff confirmed that, under standard lease practice, multiple parties listed on a lease are jointly and severally liable for lease obligations.
Ending: The series of approvals clears the way for near-term airport pavement and taxi-lane work, pending FAA grant acceptances and final legal review of agreements.
