A counselor from the George Rick School‑Based Health Clinic addressed the board during public comments to invite trustees and district staff to an open house on Aug. 8 and to summarize the clinic's services.
The speaker, identified as Adi Lambert and described herself as the clinic counselor, said the clinic provides medical, dental, behavioral health, social services and parenting support to students enrolled in the district regardless of insurance coverage or ability to pay. Lambert asked trustees and staff to register via a QR code so the clinic can estimate attendance.
Lambert said the clinic aims to increase awareness of services among new employees and families and offered to provide presentations to staff on topics such as burnout, bullying prevention and suicide prevention. She noted the clinic is housed in Schertz so students and families need not travel into San Antonio to access services.
Trustees acknowledged the invitation and thanked the counselor for the offer to present to school staff.
