Commissioners approve juvenile-justice contracts, transit vendor agreements and readopt county investment policy

The Josephine County Board of Commissioners on July 22 approved a package of community justice contracts and amendments, two transit vendor agreements and readopted the county—s investment policy.

The votes came during the administrative workshop after presentations by Community Justice Director Michael Hyde and staff. The board also directed staff to move several building-safety and public-health invoice items to the weekly business session (WBS) for additional public input.

Why it matters: The contracts fund ongoing juvenile diversion and residential services, pay for polygraph and treatment services used by community corrections, and sustain transit operations. Together they affect program capacity, county budgets and several state grant relationships.

What the board approved - Juvenile justice: the board approved an amendment to the county—s Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) basic and diversion services contract (agreement ending "25") for the 2025-27 biennium, continuing funding to support community supervision and diversion programming (not to exceed $405,062 as described in staff presentation).
