At its October 21 meeting, the Granite County Board of Commissioners approved a slate of reappointments for county boards and districts and moved to accept county claims for payment.
Reappointments approved (motion/second; voice vote recorded as “Aye”): Kathy Smith to the compensation board; Donovan Jones to the airport board; William Park to the Valley Cemetery District board; Jerry Cooney (entry listed) to the Valley Fire District; Heidi Hinkle and other named incumbents to the planning board; Kenny K. Kane to the Valley Fire District Board of Trustees; Dana Latray to the cemetery board. Each appointment was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote with no roll-call tallies reported in the transcript.
The board also approved the claims submitted for payment after a motion and second. Commissioners noted several remaining vacancies to be advertised: compensation, weed board, board of adjustment, Drummond fire district, and PVerd 2 district. A representative for Big Sky Rail (correspondence from Elena) will appear on a future agenda.
No contested appointments or formal objections were recorded. The board directed staff to advertise the remaining open seats and to bring one Big Sky Rail representative item back next week.
