Osceola commissioners approve consent agendas, continue public hearing item and make two board appointments

The Osceola Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved multiple routine items during its Aug. 12 meeting, continued one public hearing to mid-September and confirmed two local board appointments.
The board approved the consent agenda covering items 3 through 38 on the agenda. Commissioner Arrington moved approval; Commissioner Chaudhry seconded, and the motion carried on a voice vote.
County Manager requested one change at the start of the meeting: a continuance of consent public hearing item 48 (described as a tri-party agreement among a developer, the county and the city). The manager asked that item 48 be continued to the Sept. 15, 2025 board meeting at 5:30 p.m. Commissioner Booth moved to accept the change; the board approved. Separately, the board noted that items 42, 43 and 47 were also listed for continuance on the agenda.
When the board addressed consent public hearing items 39 through 49, Commissioner Arrington moved approval and Commissioner Chaudhry seconded. The board voted unanimously to approve the listed items; for item 48 the recorded action was a continuance to the Sept. 15, 2025 meeting at 5:30 p.m., as requested by county staff.
Commissioners also confirmed two appointments during commissioner reports: Charlie Plaza was nominated and confirmed as an alternate to the Code Enforcement Board (motion introduced by Commissioner Booth) and Larry Payne was appointed to the Board of Adjustment in District 3 (motion introduced by Commissioner Arrington). Both appointments passed by voice vote.
The board adopted a proclamation recognizing Constitution Week. Commissioner Booth read the proclamation prepared by a local Daughters of the American Revolution chapter; the commission voted to adopt the proclamation by voice vote.
There were no public comment speakers at the meeting (two had been scheduled but withdrew), and no ordinances or contested hearings were decided at this session.
The meeting adjourned after brief commissioner reports, including announcements about community events and a senior game day and summer celebration.
