Denton said the family suggested several site options, including a Spring Creek bridge on Sparta Pike between Lindsay and Greenwood and a bridge between Greenwood and the Bethel Church of Christ, and that the family would also be open to a bridge inside the city where the honoree had lived.
Commissioners discussed jurisdictional limitations: county staff said bridges located on state routes or inside municipal boundaries may require state or city approval rather than only county action. Commissioners asked staff to check county naming guidelines, confirm whether candidate bridges already carry a dedication or plaque, and reach out to the city mayor where appropriate. Denton said he would try to coordinate with supporting family members and return documentation for staff use.
