Board adopts policies, accepts major grants and approves staff handbooks and contracts

The Fremont County School District #25 Board of Trustees at a regular meeting approved a slate of administrative items including new and revised policies, acceptance of large grants, adoption of handbooks, and a series of personnel actions.
Board members adopted the meeting agenda and a consent agenda that included minutes from the July 16 board meeting, payment of bills (including late pays), preauthorization of payroll and automatic payments, and abrogation of Policy 5087 (district staff retirement insurance) on second reading. The board also approved three policies on first reading: Policy 5115 (certified/licensed professional advertising, recruiting and hiring), Policy 5085 (district staff fringe benefits) and Policy 5095 (district staff short-term leaves).
The board accepted the 2025–2026 Perkins and Consolidated Grant totaling $2,943,573.56. Separately reported during the meeting, district staff described recent allocations for Title II and Title IV programs totaling approximately $732,000 that the district said are now in the state grants management system.
The trustees approved several handbooks: a district staff handbook for the 2025–26 school year (described by staff as a framework that will be expanded with links and procedural forms), the Aspen Elementary Nest Daycare Parent Handbook and the Riverton High School Wolverine parent/student activities guidebook.
On personnel matters the board accepted resignations effective immediately from Deidra Milligan (Rendezvous Elementary teacher), Christie Spriggs (Riverton High School head girls swim coach), Andrea McCoy (RHS assistant girls swim coach), Trayton Hyatt (RHS assistant wrestling coach) and Annabel Bornhoft (RHS assistant wrestling coach). The board also voted to offer contracts effective for the 2025–26 school year to Amy Larson (Rendezvous Elementary teacher), Tamara Stuckey (Rendezvous learning resource teacher), Vashti Anderson (Willow Creek nurse), Court McGuffey (RHS assistant football coach), Greta Roth (RHS head girls swim coach) and Ashley Penner (RHS assistant volleyball coach).
The board voted to adopt revised district vision priorities, commitments and core values as presented.
Most votes were recorded by voice (“Aye”) and the minutes do not include roll-call tallies of individual yes/no votes for the actions above.
Ending The board set several upcoming items for further discussion at future meetings, and staff said they will send trustees follow-up materials and schedules by email.
