The board also approved a petition from Rockwell Amusements for a fall carnival at 100 Main Street (Apex site) on Oct. 16–19; the petitioner confirmed state ride inspections, local electrical inspections and on‑site sanitation and cleanup plans. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Elijah Project.
On a separate matter the board took up a kennel license renewal for Harmony Dog Training LLC, 65 Patterson Ave. The board voted to renew the kennel license but also approved a separate motion to summon the license holder for a formal hearing in November to determine whether the operation is creating a nuisance for neighboring properties. The board denied a vehicle damage claim from Myrna George for $208.98 after committee review and a roll call vote.
