The Town of Hubbardston Board of Health on Sept. 9 signed a Title 5 septic approval for 72 New Westminster Road and signed several one‑day food vendor permits for upcoming events, using board signatures in lieu of a separate vote.
The board reviewed a Title 5 report for a property listed as 72 New Westminster Road and noted an engineering plan for Parcel 43 of Lot A on Brookridge Road that will be signed when the address is added. Board members said that signing the permits is the board’s standard administrative approval. Staff member Sadie will retain copies and follow up on any missing documentation.
Members also approved multiple one‑day food permits for community events — including the Lions Club and several truck‑based vendors described in the record as operated under a single owner (various trade names were listed) — and discussed documentation requirements for allergen competency and ServSafe inspection records. The board agreed to conditionally approve one application from Candy Clouds for an Oct. 11 event provided the vendor submits required documentation and pays an additional $20 fee before the event.
Inspections and complaints were also updated. The Peaceful Acres Campground inspection was completed without problems; the first swimming‑pool water test results will be filed with the record. A septic odor complaint is under follow‑up: staff reported a phone message indicating step one of corrective work was done, but the pumping record has not yet been received. A separate fly complaint has prompted a letter to the business suspected to be the source; the business will submit an insect abatement plan.
The board asked staff to continue residential inspections next week and to collect the outstanding documentation (ServSafe/allergen competency and pump records) before finalizing permits.
