Angela Eldridge, chair of the Trustees of Trust Funds, asked the Selectmen to appoint Tracy Fernandez as an alternate trustee for a one-year term. A member moved the appointment, it was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The board approved four water and sewer warrants presented by town staff. The items included a $270 charge for Wentworth Regional School District backflow, a $119.50 charge for final meter readings and seller admin fees for Map 92 Lot 11034 A, a multi‑item warrant (referenced by account 130096238) covering hydrants and related charges, and a monthly bill of $24,617.64. Selectmen moved and seconded approval, and the warrants passed on a voice vote.
Public works staff and a selectman reviewed the town’s paving schedule for the coming days and weeks. Work described included grinding and resurfacing on Old Route 28 beginning the following day, and planned base-and-top resurfacing on Isaac Buswell, Granite Road and Deer Cove Road; shim work was planned for the end of Andy Nichols Road.
Staff also said traffic counters provided by a third party (LRGH referenced in the meeting) would be deployed on a list of town roads to gather data.
During public comment, resident David Conway asked about construction at Connor Pond and whether the Department of Environmental Services (DES) had inspected the site. Town staff said White Mountain Survey and Engineering was overseeing the project and that DES had conducted a site visit and had “no issue” with the work, and the project was following the approved plan.
A resident asked whether the town’s financial director, Andrea, was still employed and whether the part-time staffing model remained appropriate given the workload. Selectmen defended the part‑time arrangement as a cost-saving measure and said they would follow up with town manager Matt if specific problems arose and confirmed staff would contact Matt when an issue occurs.
Several routine motions were adopted without extended debate; no new ordinances or major contracts were approved at the meeting.
