Superintendent Dr. Zuckerman introduced Yusef Dagley as the district's student representative for the school year; Dagley, a senior, outlined extracurricular involvement and described student spirit activities (teams split as "blue" vs. "gray").
Principals introduced new faculty members for both the high school and middle school. The high school and middle school principals named several new teachers who will join classrooms this year; administrators said two additional hires (Colin Willard and Nick Trocki) were unable to attend the meeting.
The personnel committee, reporting June and August work, said the district has an assistant business administrator in place (Nico), an interim athletic director through Oct. 3 while a permanent athletic director starts later, and a new assistant high-school principal. The committee also said two mathematics FTEs (one at the middle school and one at the high school) and two special education FTEs remain available and will be filled if enrollment requires.
Committee members said the board approved retaining an immigration attorney on retainer to assist teachers hired from outside the United States with visas and immigration paperwork. The board discussed Chromebook care and an optional $40 self-insurance program for device damage.
No individual employment votes were read into the public record during the meeting beyond the consent agenda personnel approvals; the personnel committee's report outlined current hires and open positions to guide future staffing and budget decisions.
