Greene County commissioners place wide-ranging contracts, grants and infrastructure items on the agenda

Greene County commissioners approved motions Aug. 12 to place a broad set of contracts, grant acceptances, reimbursements and infrastructure agreements on the county agenda, including grant-funded workforce and planning studies, library improvements tied to CDBG funds, a PennDOT-funded bridge rehabilitation, public-safety radio replacements and multiple human-services contracts.

The items were presented during the commissionersagenda meeting and each motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. Most items were procedural placements to move contract approvals, grant acceptances or intergovernmental agreements forward for execution or final signing.

Among the larger financial items, commissioners voted to place on the agenda a professional services contract to conduct a county workforce study at a cost of $142,820 to be covered by grant funds; a proposal from Widmer Engineering for design and permitting of phase 2 of the Waynesburg Commons improvement project at roughly $149,755, with construction to be funded by a TASA grant awarded in 2024; and acceptance of a PennDOT-funded bridge rehabilitation project on State Route 1010 (Main Street) over Pumpkin Run near Rices Landing Borough, with PennDOT providing 100% of the funding.
