Village of Clemmons schedules Sept. 8 public hearing on annexation agreement with Bermuda Run

The Village of Clemmons Council voted on Aug. 25, 2025, to call a public hearing for an annexation agreement with the town of Bermuda Run.
Assistant manager (unnamed) told the council the village has been updating three annexation agreements discussed at the January retreat; Winston‑Salem and Lewisville agreements remain in process and Bermuda Run was ready for the formal hearing call. The assistant manager said the draft agreement clarifies that neither town will cross the Yadkin River — which also serves as the county boundary — and that the agreement will run for 20 years. The assistant manager noted the village's prior agreement with Bermuda Run had expired in 2022.
Council Member (unnamed) moved to call a public hearing for the annexation agreement and specified the hearing date and time: Monday, Sept. 8, 2025, at 6 p.m. at Village Hall. The motion was seconded, and the council approved it by unanimous voice vote.
The council packet included a draft agreement and a map; the assistant manager said the map is the most important part for understanding the proposed boundary. The public hearing will give residents and affected parties an opportunity to comment before the council later considers adopting the annexation agreement.
