James said GOCO asked the county to reduce the dollar amount requested from GOCO and encouraged the county to apply to the CPW nonmotorized grant to preserve other GOCO funding. He said the CPW application and the GOCO application were packaged together through county staff.
Staff also said two local resolutions were prepared to satisfy funder requirements: one for the CPW grant (the $250,000 nonmotorized grant) and one for the GOCO request (noted by staff at $1,500,000). The CPW resolution language requires the county to commit to keeping the trail open for at least 25 years; staff noted a clerical error in the draft that read "2.5 years" and said it would be corrected.
