Milford council approves consent agenda, facility repairs, donations and RFP for pool remediation

The Milford City Council approved several administrative and capital items during its Aug. 19 meeting.
Consent agenda and minutes: The council approved the consent agenda, including the July financial report, the July bills and payroll and minutes for the July 15 public hearing and Aug. 4 special meeting.
Bay doors: The council authorized expenditure and contract with Elite Doors and Windows to replace five doors at the old fire station and four doors at the city maintenance shop; the contractor planned a site measurement visit following council approval.
Appointment: The council appointed Josie Lozano to fill a vacancy on the local booster club.
Waterline filing: The council approved filing an extension request for water line application 71-497 (application number 845723).
Municipal golf-course agreement: Council approved amendments to the municipal golf-course agreement reflecting personnel changes and maintenance arrangements; the updated agreement was to take effect in August 2025.
Stadium lights donation: The council accepted a donation of stadium lights from Beaver County School District (lights removed from a football field) and authorized placing the lights into city storage; staff will coordinate with the recreation committee about purchasing a storage container (Connex) to hold the lights and equipment.
Pool (bat) remediation RFP: After an inspection and staff recommendations, the council authorized staff to issue a request for proposals (RFP) and hire a general contractor to perform pool roof replacement, attic remediation and bat exclusion/abatement work. The council said in-house piecemeal repairs would be more difficult to manage than contracting a single general contractor to oversee the project.
Other business: Councilors discussed fair staffing, Christmas lighting help and miscellaneous public-works updates; no action was recorded on those items.
