Roseville grants commission debates scoring, caps and calendar; adopts FY26–27 funding calendar and policy updates

At its Aug. 12, 2025 meeting, the City of Roseville Grants Advisory Commission approved the fiscal-year 2026–27 funding cycle calendar and adopted updates to the Citizens Benefit Fund policy manual and grant guidelines. Commissioners also held an extended discussion on scoring practices, possible caps for large awards, and whether to revisit funding priorities established in a 2020 community review.

The commission voted to approve the FY26–27 funding calendar after a motion and second; the meeting record shows a voice vote with all present saying “Aye.” Staff noted the November meeting falls on the Veterans Day holiday and the commission scheduled that meeting for Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025. Staff told commissioners the available funding estimate for the coming cycle is expected to be roughly $290,000–$300,000, subject to final finance statements in October.
