Finance committee picks Vanco (RevTrack) for online payments as state budget delay keeps district cautious

The district’s finance committee reported on Aug. 11 that administrators selected Vanco (RevTrack) as the district’s vendor to accept electronic and virtual payments.
Finance presenters told the committee that the system will allow parents and the public to pay fees, donate, and make other payments online; the vendor will also help the district collect reimbursements such as payments for damaged devices and streamline fundraiser payments. The committee packet included vendor pricing and a recommendation for board approval at the regular meeting.
Finance leadership also reported that Pennsylvania had not approved a state budget 42 days into the new fiscal year, leaving districts to operate more cautiously. The finance presenter told directors that York City SD relies on state funding for roughly 75% of its revenue as an urban district, said the district has a healthy fund balance, and encouraged board members and community members to contact state legislators about the budget, which the presenter said was being delayed in part by a separate transportation (SEPTA) negotiation in Harrisburg.
Administration told the committee that capital items such as the Siemens facilities work are funded from capital accounts and are not affected by general fund holdbacks, but the general fund and some federal/state grant disbursements had not yet arrived.
