DENTON, Texas — The Denton County Commissioners Court opened a public hearing Aug. 12 and unanimously approved a petition to create the Northlake Fresh Water Supply District No. 1 in Commissioner Precinct 1.
Mayor Montini of the Town of Northlake addressed the court in favor of the petition, saying the new district "will help us get critical infrastructure into a portion of the town that has very little right now and serve water to that area" and that it would encourage responsible growth. Doctor Mustafa Abdul Jabbar, representing ABHR, also registered in support and offered to answer questions on the petition.
