Macomb Township approves promotions across departments and hires three part‑time firefighters

At its July 23 meeting the Macomb Township Board of Trustees approved multiple internal promotions and the hire of three part‑time firefighters.
Human Resources staff presented each promotion as the result of internal posting and review: Elizabeth Leperi for an accounting clerk position in the finance department; Olivia Mazzola for clerical duties in the supervisor’s office; Michael (Mike) Azar to Fire Inspector (effective Aug. 3, 2025); and Chris Nosick to Maintenance Supervisor 2 in DPW. HR staff said each position was budgeted and recommended approval.
HR also reported it received three qualified applicants for part‑time firefighter positions and recommended hiring Derek Gabzinski, Tyler Miller and Joshua Palmer, with an intended hire date of Aug. 4, 2025. The board approved the promotions and hires unanimously; Clerk Posey and staff noted most items had been presented and discussed during the budget process.
Ending: HR staff will process the promotions and new hires and complete the administrative onboarding tasks with effective dates as stated in the personnel memos.
