Macomb Township trustees on July 23 approved an adjustment to a sanitary sewer diversion for 22 Mile Road in the Fairchild area, updating district boundaries to align with a developer’s plan and renewing a condition that the developer deposit funds to cover future flow monitoring.
Mr. Fantasalone, an engineering staff member, told trustees the change is an update to a diversion study first approved in 2017 and that the proposal still meets the township’s five‑criteria test for diversions. “We are recommending approval with one condition, and that's that they deposit $72,000 with the township to cover the cost of future monitoring, flow monitoring, of the sewer that's along North Avenue,” Mr. Fantasalone said. He noted the previous condition had required a $52,000 deposit and staff updated the amount to reflect current monitoring costs.
Clerk Posey asked that the condition be included in the motion; the board approved the diversion with that condition. Trustees voted unanimously.
Ending: Engineering staff will confirm the deposit and execute the diversion adjustment consistent with the board’s conditional approval.
