Students invite board to 16th annual Teaching with Purpose conference at Benson High

Student leaders Aaron and Neema, joined by Jefferson High student representatives, told the board about the sixteenth annual Teaching with Purpose conference, scheduled for Oct. 10 at Benson High School. The students said the conference centers student voice, will host more than 700 educators and includes workshops on mental health, economic and technology literacy, trauma‑informed practice and student-led discussions on housing justice and community empowerment.
Superintendent Armstrong said she will serve as a keynote speaker and encouraged directors to attend; Oct. 10 was noted as an in‑service day during which educators can choose professional development opportunities.
