The Stonecrest Development Authority convened an executive session on Oct. 22 to discuss real estate and returned to its public meeting with unanimous votes to approve several procedural items, the authority said.
The board’s chair moved the body into an executive session "for real estate," a motion that was seconded and approved without recorded opposition. After roughly an hour in closed session, members reconvened in the public meeting and voted unanimously to accept the minutes of both the August public meeting and the executive session.
The authority did not disclose details about the real-estate matters discussed while in executive session. In open session members did say the authority recently "closed on the other property for the city" and "received the triangle," but they did not provide documents or specifics in the public record during this meeting.
The board also recorded the formal resignation of member Elijah Ajaye; the chair said the vacancy will be filled by a council appointment before the end of the year and that the replacement would be brought to the City Council for approval at the December meeting.
Votes at a glance: the authority approved the August 27, 2025 minutes, authorized entry into executive session for real estate, exited the executive session, and voted to accept the executive-session minutes; all motions passed unanimously.
No ordinances, contracts, budgets, or other public real-estate decisions were finalized in open session on Oct. 22. The authority indicated that outstanding real-estate matters remain under negotiation and will be addressed in appropriate future meetings or in the public record if and when disclosures are permitted.
