The board opened and then closed the public hearing before taking the sale vote. Vice Chairman Nelson moved to close the hearing, a motion seconded by Supervisor Bittinger; the motion passed 5-0. The board then moved to sell the parcel via direct sale to the warming shelter; that motion also passed 5-0.
County staff present identified the transaction as a direct sale rather than a bid process. The board did not discuss competing bidders during the meeting. Board members asked no substantive questions during the public hearing beyond procedural confirmation.
The board chair directed the winning party to see county staff after the meeting to complete next steps.
