The East Grand Rapids City Commission on Aug. 18 approved a series of administrative and winter-preparation actions: it raised the city purchasing-approval threshold from $5,000 to $10,000; authorized $43,650 for three custom sidewalk snow/ice removal attachments; approved purchase of winter road salt at $71.82 per ton through a purchasing consortium; approved revisions to winter-maintenance sidewalk priority routes; and postponed changes to the Snow and Ice Guidelines to allow staff to refine language on resident responsibilities. The commission also approved the meeting consent agenda.
