Alliance Women’s Clinic introduces services to Zion, seeks partnerships with local agencies

Zion — Yolanda James, regional director for Alliance Women’s Clinic, addressed the City Council during public comment on Oct. 7 to introduce the clinic’s services and local outreach efforts.
The clinic, located at 2640 Sheridan Road, provides free reproductive-health services including well-woman exams, STI testing, pregnancy tests, ultrasound, prenatal care, options counseling, wrap-around social services and care groups, James told the council. She said the clinic has participated in the community hub at the library and has met with the Zion Family Resource Center to coordinate referrals when the clinic is closed.
James said the clinic has been building relationships with local leaders, including a meeting with Sherry Hill (noted in the comment as a town supervisor) and with Kendra, a commissioner on the zoning and planning board, who has helped make city connections. She asked for municipal support as the clinic continues outreach in the area.
Mayor O'Keefe thanked James and said city staff would follow up to connect the clinic with relevant departments.
