JFS says one bidder likely to replace expiring nonmedical-transportation contract; public asked for patience

John Gargano, Trumbull County Department of Job and Family Services, confirmed the department went out to bid and said there has been one successful bidder. He told the commissioners and the public that he had spoken with the bidder’s attorney and that department staff are working through the county’s evaluation and procurement processes. Gargano said the department is expediting internal steps and “we would have that before the board” soon, potentially the week after next, so the county would not be without contract coverage.
The commenter asked why there had been delay in finalizing a contract; Gargano replied that evaluation and in-house processes took longer than anticipated but that he had asked fiscal staff to expedite the matter. No formal board action on the procurement was recorded during the meeting; the item remained in the administrative process pending presentation to the board for approval.
