County staff reported the applicant submitted required state and county documentation and passed a criminal background check. The licensee, identified in the meeting as Armpit Kumar Patel, was present to answer questions.
Commissioners asked procedural questions about how many package stores exist in the county and whether the county caps package-store permits; staff replied there is no cap at present but said they would need to count the total number of package stores. The board member asking those questions added that ordinance changes to create a cap were under consideration.
Commissioner Stowers moved to approve the license; Commissioner Bruce seconded. The motion passed on a roll call vote.
The approval allows the licensee to sell malt beverages and wine in package form at the specified address, subject to standard state and county licensing requirements.
